South Australian contemporary jeweller Alice Potter finished her Bachelor of Visual Communications at the University of South Australia in 2004, and completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied Design; Jewellery at TAFE SA Adelaide Centre for the Arts in 2006. Alice was an access tenant at Adelaide's renowned Gray Street Workshop for four and half years, and now works from her home studio in Unley.
Alice's work is a mix of precious metals and non-traditional, found materials. Her pieces have a distinct focus on colour and form, with her design background showing through amongst the colour combinations and the placement of specifically chosen elements. From her simple jewellery works to her recent, more elaborate pieces, each is carefully designed and constructed to reflect art and design in everyday life as wearable art.
